Origin and history
The origins of the distilling tradition in the sub-castle of Ľubovňa date back to the period before 1343, when the town of Stará Ľubovňa was granted the right of tapping. At this point by the middle of the 18. century there was a wooden distillery, mentioned in documents as early as 1746.In the middle of the 18th century. century, the Polish queen Maria Josephina initiated a complete reconstruction of the castle and a modern stone distillery was built within the framework of the reconstruction.
The Spiš region and its history
The historical boundaries of Spiš were already formed in the 11th century. v 12. and in the 13th century they expanded to include Zamagurie, Podolínec, Hniezdne and Stará Ľubovňa. This distribution of borders lasted without major changes until the beginning of the 20th century. That's it.

Spišská Pálenica - exceptional in its design and modern technologies that are unique for Slovenia and Europe. It has 2 distillation plants with a capacity of 2 x 1,500 litres, based on a semi-automatic distillation system, and is able to process up to 5,256,000 litres of fermentation per year.
The distillation is multi-stage, which is reflected in the distillates, which are higher quality and clearer.
